Restore Balance to Mind, Body & Spirit

Often referred to as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka is a Buddhist island nation just off the southeastern tip of India.

While India is the birthplace of Ayurveda, Sri Lanka is considered one of the world's most authentic homes of Ayurvedic practice.

Nestled in the jungle outside Kandy — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Sri Lanka's cultural capital — this retreat is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and immerse yourself in one of the world's richest traditions of healing, nature, and culture.

Where we’re headed

The retreat takes place at the Kandy Samadhi Center, located outside Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Set on a regenerated former tea estate, the property has been slowly and thoughtfully developed over the past 25 years with deep respect for the surrounding jungle and the traditions of Sri Lankan architecture.

Founded by Waruna Jayasinghe, the Samadhi Center is a deeply personal project rooted in sustainability, art, and preservation.

Though not formally trained as an architect, Waruna was nominated for the prestigious Geoffrey Bawa architectural award for his work on the property — a reflection of the care and vision behind the center’s design.

Many of the medicinal herbs and ingredients used at the center are grown on-site, and the land is continually being cultivated as a food forest that supports both humans and local wildlife.

A week of immersive practice, cultural discovery, and immersion in nature

Daily Yoga & Meditation

Morning and evening practice with Jackie, alongside select classes taught by local Sri Lankan teachers rooted in their own lineage.

Ayurvedic Wellness

Begin with a private Ayurvedic doctor consultation to understand your dosha and receive a personalized wellness plan. The center's menu of treatments — Abhyanga warm oil massage, Shirodhara, herbal steam therapy, and more — are available to book throughout your stay. Sri Lanka is one of the world's great homes of this ancient practice, and these treatments are among the most transformative experiences the retreat has to offer.

Culture & Heritage

Kandy is a UNESCO World Heritage city alive with Buddhist temples, local markets, village life, and antiques. We'll move through it slowly — with curiosity, intention, and plenty of time to wander.

Into the Wild

Waterfalls, jungle paths, and rolling tea country. The natural landscape of Sri Lanka's hill country is unlike anywhere else — and we'll spend real time in it.

Food as Medicine

Three daily meals grown and prepared on-site according to Ayurvedic principles, plus an immersive cooking demonstration that teaches you how to bring this practice home. Ingredients grown steps from your plate, eaten slowly, together.

Deep Connection

Throughout the week, we’ll create space for connection — to ourselves, to one another, to the land, and to something higher. Through practice, presence, and shared experience, this retreat invites you to feel rooted, open, and restored.
